Segmenting and Blending
For this activity, Jacob worked on the segmenting and blending of CVC words using a selection of letter sounds from Phase 2. However, this could be easily adapted to use any words (please see my information section for strategies to support the teaching of segmenting and blending linked to the phases of phonics).
This activity is a good introduction to nonsense words which will be part of the phonics curriculum at pre-school and school (please see my information section for more information about nonsense words)
